Every so often....ok...all the time, I take pictures that are just for me. My two older kids refuse to be photographed (I'm hoping some play time at the beach will work to my advantage....) so I have my sweet little puddin' Ethan!! Even Ethan is becoming immune to my camera....he knows what the camera is and knows that mama means buisness when it's out.....so of course he looks everywhere else but at me!! What's a mama to do...wait until her baby is asleep=)

One more session this year....but this wasn't a Christmas session, so it was ok for me to break the rules (just ask my business manager)!! This family is one of my favorite families to photograph - not to mention how easy and laid back they were!! "Sit on the ground for me.....in downtown busy Ocean Springs...."!! I photographed them for the first time three years ago in Santa Barbara!! Here is a very SMALL sneak peak as today is supposed to be my day off!! Give me a few days and your gallery will be up!! Albums for sale

On more then a few occassions, I've had clients ask if I sell empty albums and if not where can they purchase them because they want their albums to match. I've never really entertained the idea of selling them...until now. Why the change of heart?? Because while I was unpacking boxes, I realized how much I like my albums and wanted them to match...so I started swapping out images from my old photo albums in my *Rhietta Price Photography* albums....and then it dawned on me......this is why my clients wanted empty albums (duh....sometimes I wonder about myself.....good thing I'm not a doctor!!).

My albums are only available to professional photographers - so for a limited time, I will offer them to you. Please inquire through my website on sizes and prices of albums that you are interested in. This includes CD/DVD cases and image proof boxes.

Not really a Sneak Peek

Wow....what another busy season coming to an end. This past Tuesday was my last available scheduled session for 2008 (I will still take maternity and new born sessions - don't panic). After my sessions, I've deciced to start doing sneak peeks.....except I've been so busy that I haven't had time so these are.....after the fact peeks at some of my most recent sessions a.k.a sessions from Ocean Springs!! I've officially been here a whole whopping MONTH!!! Time sure does fly.

With out further a do.....Little B...he made my job so easy!! Such a happy baby!! The world would be a better place if we could all be as happy as he was.......

This is Little Ms. A - such a rough start in life this little Angel had...but what a fighter she is - she has a beautiful smile to prove it to the world as well!!

My two favorite little boys in the whole world.....and also the hardest to photograph....my older son that is...what a treat for me to get a picture of him not making a hulk face....or a batman face....or any silly face for that matter.....

My latest and greatest family session (and my last of this season) - what a fun family they are. I had fun playing with Little J and Little Miss K....what a sweet baby girl she is!!

If you see a design that you like, feel free to let me know and I will mark it as taken (clients must have their sessions booked to reserve designs). All 2008 designs are available with no limitations. All holiday cards come with customalbe test and colors. Included are the front, inside and back sides of the cards and come with envelopes.

Since we are moving to a new location, what better time then to update my website with new images from new clients. Becasue there will be new lighting situations, and new shooting locations....I figured now would be the perfect time!! All prices on the website and shopping cart reflect portfolio building prices. These prices will be good on any and all sessions scheduled between 10-oct and 31-Dec (your actual session can take place after 31-Dec, but must be booked by 31-Dec). All sessions booked after 31 Dec will be at regular prices.

Ask any Children's Photographer

Who is/are the hardest children to photograph?? Is it colicy newborns? Nope....is it children in their terrible two's? Nope....what about kids that have been sugared up right before their session....think again.

The hardest children to photograph, are a photographers OWN children!! Yep...that is right...their own children!

When I am able to get a *decent* picture of my children - I jump for joy....and boy was I jumping yesterday. In the midst of all the packing and caous in the house with a new baby, and a new move....what better way to add to it then to attempt to take pictures of my kids!!

I broke the code yesterday....my son wanted a mohawk....and Lilly wanted to pretend to be Hannah Montana...while playing up on those two things worked yesterday....I'm sure should I attempt again today....I'd be back to square one!!

For now....I'll keep what I got=)

We're Moving!!

It has been a true pleasure to photograph all my wonderful friends and clients here on the Central Coast of California, but like with all things....changes must come. Rhietta Price Photography will be closing it's doors - only for a short while during the move. We will re-open in the wonderful city of Ocean Springs Mississippi!! It will be a new enviornment with new opportunities - we are really looking forward to the move and are extrememly excited!!

I haven't forgotten.....I just haven't really had any new or exciting happenings. As most of my clients know, I have currently pregnant and thus have not been taking any sessions. The first few months.....morning sickness does not even begin to cover what I went through....and now....the belly is just getting in the way!!

To slowly get back in the game, I thought it might be a good idea to pick up my camera and dust it off....litterally.

The weather this weekend was beautiful....and my kiddos took full advatage!!

Have I ever mentioned I'm allergic to horses....

I'm allergic to horse dander....so staying away from horses...something I've become really good at - up until recently. This is my most recent senior Shelby. She and her grandmother are very fond of horses and when it came time for her senior pictures...she wanted horses.

With a nice zoom lens, I was able to get take these while still remaining a safe distance away.

This is Mrs. DeLeon - she is due with a baby girl (Ava) in January. Her husband is currently deployed to Korea right now, and during a mid tour vacation to Hawaii....well lets just say she came home with a little suvineir=) W e're documenting this little one every few months so that daddy can take part. She is roughly 24 weeks here.

I haven't forgotten to update, I just haven't had a chance.....the Holiday rush is in full effect right now!! Throw in a week of preschool pictures from a local daycare center - drowning!!! Who would have thought a doing something I love would be so much work!! All I have to say.....23 3/4 year olds...it's like herding kittens to get that class picture!! The easiest group...no kidding...my 6wk - 1 year old groups!

This is sweet baby A - he slept the entire time!! Photographing babies like him make we want another one;)

What a feisty little one she is - she didnt want anything to do with me at the beginning of our session, but by the end - I had a new little friend. So small, yet so full of life and spunk!!

Miss Sophia. She was here visiting from Mexico visiting with her Aunt Renta. I just loved her big brown eyes.

Back from Vacation

I'm finally back from vaction - what a wonderful time I had....with that said, I'm slowly catching up on returning phone calls and answering emails. If you don't hear back from me by the end of the week, please call me!!

My first session back was with my senior rep from Cabrillo high school. This is Kassie!! She had a wonderful idea to shoot at a waterfall....except when we got there...it was a tricklefall=) Have no fear....we were able to work the location and get some fabulous shots!! She was a total hoot to work with!!

This month has been busy, and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon. This weekend started with a sweet cutie pie. Meet baby Jack - he was just as sweet and happy as can be.....and such a trooper. I really enjoyed the session as well as getting to chat with mom and dad. I know they are anxious to see their proofs, and I promise I'm almost done. Here is a sneak peak to hold you over!!

This past weekend a fellow photographer (who also happens to be a great friend of mine) organized a group session of sorts. Each photographer had their own client, but we all went to the same location (we were required to make a reservation and pick up keys). When we got to the location, the wind was Terrible (with a capital *T*), so we headed down to the beach (also behind the locked gate).

Meet Ms. Q!! She was a blast to work with, and a total trooper dealing with the wind, sand storms....and just cold conditions!! Look for more of her in the near future on my site as well as the blog.

Everyday Moments

As a photographer, I find myself always wanting the *perfect* picture....regardless of whether or not I'm at the park, Disneyland....or at a friends house. A professional colleuge of mine mentioned recently that as photographers, we need to remember to take the average family *snap shots* of our families because we miss so much getting caught up in that *perfect* picture.
As I was listening to what she was saying, I realized that she is talking about me (many photographers that I know.....). There were so many moments that I missed for that one, single picture (that sometimes I didn't get). Christmas time, Birthdays.....the first dance recital. I didn't get to enjoy them because I was so focused on getting *that* picture.
So I decided one day this past week...I'm just going to go get my camera and just snap away.....not going to set the stage for any particular picture.....just snap pictures of my kids doing what ever it was they were doing in the back yard (Please Lord, let my kids still have their clothes on and NOT be playing with the dogs pooper scooper).
This is what I saw when I opened the sliding glass door. This is my son and our golden doodle puppy Sophie ~ what they were looking at or for....only they will truly know. To me....as a mother....this is *that* shot for me. There was no stress....no thought for that matter...and I got a *snap shot* that I just love. Loved it so much, it's my newest canvas!!

A few days ago my good friend Shannon and I took off on a new adventure in the hopes of finding a *new* location to photograph. After a 30 minute drive to what seemed to be the middle of nowhere......we came to a gate. She and I both had to climb though this gate to get to our new wonderland (will show pictures at a later date...as I don't want to give away my location just yet).....inbetween the two gates were these railroad tracks. While I don't really *have an eye* for these types of photographs, I really like what I captured. Let me know what you think......

Meet little Tommy. I waited 4.5 months to get my hands on this little guy!! He was so NOT impressed with me at all, but surprise surprise we got some really cute shots. He was so much more interested in what was happening around us.....who cares about that big machine in front the photographers face. Such a sweet baby!! Keep your eyes out for this handsome baby....he is going to be my *Santa* baby.

One of my most favorite subjects to photograph is teenie, tiny babies - Newborns. They are just so.....fresh. I always get giddy when I get inquiries for Maternity sessions....why...because they are newborns in waiting=)

This is Mrs. B - she is due in 6 weeks with her second son. We had a good time, and I just know her little blessing is going to be just as beautiful as she is.

Portfolio Prices are coming to an end

I'm nearly finished with the rebuilding of my digital portfolio. Starting in September all pricing for Rhietta Price Photography will be increasing. All sessions booked prior to the price increase will be grandfathered in with the old pricing.

What does this means for you? If you schedule your session (regardless of the date) prior to 1 Sep 07, you will get to use my *portfolio building* pricing.

Chirstmas In July??

That is right....Christmas in July. In Photoland, the busy Holiday Season rush officialy begins in July. Rhietta Price Photography will start accepting Holiday Session Bookings this month. During the Holiday season, Rhietta Price Photography is usually booked 3 weeks out so book your sessions early.

Rhietta Price Photography will not guaruntee any portraits from sessions after 15 Nov 07 to be back in time for Christmas.

These sessions are designed towards the Holidays. Book your session in July (session does not need to take place in July) and receive a set (20) of custom designed Holiday Cards using portraits from your session.
